Geek Tip:FTP (File Transfer Protocol) is a fast and efficient way to upload files to a host site. FTP tools are especially helpful when building websites because they can easily transfer many files at once. They are simple to use and can ensure you have a backup if anything were to happen to your host. Vice versa, if your computer crashes, you will be able to recover your files from your host's system. Some FTP software will even allow you to schedule transfers for specific times, drag and drop files, or map an Internet FTP site to a local drive.
